Act Fast, Joe

President-Elect Biden says he’ll be tough on climate change. Prove it, say 400 activist organizations who on December 16th sent Biden’s transition team a hefty draft Executive Order that the president could finalize and issue ASAP. The executive order would declare climate change a national emergency and deploy executive powers to build a clean and just energy economy while also deeply slashing domestic and global emissions. Guest Jean Su unpacks these proposals and the imperative for energy justice.

We are in the middle of a climate holocaust. There is no time to lose. In the last four years we have lost such deeply deeply precious time to combat the climate emergency. Every year that is lost has significant dire consequences for people all over the world. We have had four years of rollbacks but right now it is most important as ever to get out and move as fast as possible. There is political appetite for change. – Jean Su
