Act Fast, Joe (#10)

Act Fast, Joe (#10)

President-Elect Biden says he’ll be tough on climate change. Prove it, nearly 400 activist organizations said on December 16th, sending Biden’s transition team a jam-packed draft Executive Order that would declare climate change a national emergency and utilize other executive powers ASAP to build a clean and just energy economy — while also deeply slashing domestic and global emissions. Guest Jean Su and the show hosts unpack these proposals while also discussing energy justice and the ideological jostling within the Democratic party that could affect climate action.

We are in the middle of a climate holocaust. There is no time to lose. In the last four years we have lost such deeply deeply precious time to combat the climate emergency. Every year that is lost has significant dire consequences for people all over the world. We have had four years of rollbacks but right now it is most important as ever to get out and move as fast as possible. There is political appetite for change.  — Jean Su
